The Biggest Eye Makeup Trends 2023: The Bambi Eye

Work 2023’s newest eye makeup trend, the bambi eye, with our step-by-step expert guide.

Bambi Eyes is the Trending Look for 2023 - And We’re Obsessed

Let’s face it - Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok filters have had us all wanting to make some little tweaks to ourselves at some point. But one of the most trending social media filters at the moment - ‘Bambi eyes’ - has had millions of people trying to recreate the look on themselves at home - so there’s no filter needed. Want to try it out for yourself? Here’s our guide to how to recreate the infamous Doe eye look…

Start with your brows

While we’re all big fans of the perfect arch when it comes to our brows, the opposite is preferred for this look. The goal is to make your eyebrows look straighter, which you can do by combing up the outer corners of your brows, before using a brow pencil to add some colour and definition. Use a spoolie and comb upwards to blend in the pencil for a natural look. If you want, you can use a dab of concealer around the tail end of your brow to conceal any stray hairs that can usually make your arch look more enhanced.

Use eyeshadow

Choose three shades of eyeshadow - one lighter, one medium and one dark. Using the medium shade, create the base shape of your eye. Start at the outer edge of your lash line and use a shadow brush to create a wing up towards the tail end of your eyebrow. Then, use the same colour to brush along your lash line. The colour should look quite pronounced at this point. Next, use the dark shade with a finer brush to line over your lash line again, and thinly over the wing. Use the lighter shade to highlight the inner corners of your eyes and slightly on your lids.

Go in with liner

Use a liquid eyeliner and slowly and intricately line along your lash line, going outwards from the inner corner, staying as tight to it as possible. Wing the liner out at the ends towards the tail end of your eyebrow.

Add lashings of mascara

Coat your lashes in a mascara that does it all (BELLA LASH) to add volume, length and curl to your lashes for maximum impact.

Clean up!

Grab a tiny bit of cream concealer, along with a small concealer brush, to clean up and define the wing and any other small mishaps. Don’t forget to set the concealer in place with a translucent powder to lock the look in until it’s time to take it off.
